The term “Shockwave” or (Extra-Corporeal Shockwave Therapy or ESWT) covers a lot of different methods that are Not the same. ESWT started in Germany with focused Lithotripsy to breakup gallstones and kidney stones. They noticed healing effects above the focal point and developed a patented parallel beam of sound waves with no damage to cells like the focused beam caused. Much research and many patents produced the “SoftWave TRT” (tissue regeneration therapy). Recently other devices have copied their work but still use a focused device which damages cells!
